Plan of Chicago Collection
In the early years of the twentieth century, the business leaders of Chicago began to envision great things for their emerging city. They had recovered from a catastrophic fire, hosted the phenomenally successful World's Columbian Exposition, and reversed the flow of a river. Now they wanted to create a plan for the future, one that enabled Chicago to prosper and thrive amidst a growing nation. Famed Chicago architect Daniel Burnham, Director of Works for the World's Columbian Exposition, and Edward Bennett were hired by the Commercial Club of Chicago to develop what would become one of the greatest and most influential planning achievements the world had ever known.

100 years have passed since the Plan of Chicago was introduced to the world on July 4th, 1909 and the city of Chicago is once again turning its attention to the grand work of Burnham and Bennett. Working with the Art Institute of Chicago, Civic ArtWorks has faithfully reproduced the remarkable renderings included in the original Plan of Chicago, delineated by famed artist Jules Guérin. Limited edition fine art giclee prints have been hand-numbered and, with the finest papers and archival inks, will never cease to inspire this generation, or the next.
